President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced the Cabinet’s decision to move the country to an Adjusted Alert Level 4 of the national lockdown. This, amid rising numbers of coronavirus cases in the country – as it battles with the Delta variant that is spreading rapidly and is highly transmissible. It was first sampled in India in October last year and has now been detected in 85 countries. Gauteng accounts for more than 60% of the country’s infections.
