“Bahut Dhakke Aur Dhoke Khaake…”: Virat Kohli’s Witty Reply When Asked About His Alternate Career

Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batter Virat Kohli has been in a red-hot form in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Despite RCB having a horrendous campaign with only three victories in 10 matches, Kohli has been delivering brilliant performances. With 500 runs in 10 matches, Kohli is one of the highest run-scorers of the season. The 35-year-old cricketer is widely popular for his hardcore dedication towards fitness and cricket. Apart from this, he is also known for his fun-loving personality.

Recently during an event, Kohli was asked about his alternate career if he wouldn’t have been a cricketer.

The RCB star replied, “Pata nahi yarr, shayad business. Honestly, maine kabhi socha nahi. Mujhe bilkul business chalana nahi aata tha, ab thoda sa aata hai. Agar bina cricket ke business karta toh log 200% mujhe bewakuf bana dete. Ab thoda bahut aata hai business karna, bahut dhakke aur dhoke khaake. (I don’t know, maybe business. Honestly, I never thought about it. I never knew how to run a business but now I am slowly learning how to do it. If I would have been running a business without cricket, then 200% everyone would have made a fool out of me. Now, after facing many betrayals and hardships, I am gradually learning.)”

Apart from cricket, Kohli is also a successful business man. Kohli has invested in brands like Rage Coffee, the fitness centre Chisel, menswear brand WROGN and Blue Tribe, along with his wife, Anushka Sharma.

Despite having a good IPL season with the bat, Kohli has been facing criticism for his strike rate. Earlier, after RCB’s victory against Gujarat Titans, Kohli opened up about the criticism.

“All the people who talk about [my] strike rate and me not playing spin well are the ones who love to talk about these things. But for me, it is just about winning the game. There’s a reason why you do it for 15 years. Because you do this day in and day out and won games for your team.”

“I am not sure if you haven’t been in that situation, to sit and speak about the game from the box. I don’t think it is the same thing. I am just doing my job. People can talk about their own ideas and assumption on the game (sic),” he added.
