Mumbai Indians kept their bleak playoffs qualification chances alive with a big victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2024 match on Monday. Chasing 174, MI completed the run chase in just 17.2 overs with star batter Suryakumar Yadav scoring 102* off 51 balls. This was MI’s fourth victory in 12 matches and now they have climbed one step up from the bottom of the points table. It’s a beauty of every sport that after a game, players of both teams happily interact with each other, irrespective of the result. After MI’s victory, the likes of Suryakumar and Hardik Pandya were seen interacting with SRH skipper Pat Cummins, who narrated the story about how he lost a part of his middle finger.

In a video going viral on social media, Cummins was seen showing his right-hand middle finger to Hardik and Surya, leaving the MI skipper utterly shocked.

For the unversed, SRH skipper and renowned pacer Cummins had revealed in 2011 that he lost the top of his finger when he was three or four years old.

“I lost the top of my finger when I was about three or four (years old),” he had said. “It got slammed in a door and I lost about a centimetres off the top of my finger. It doesn’t really affect me because (the finger) is about the same length as the other one (index finger). I still get my sister in tears (because) she slammed the door on it,” Cummins had told Cricket.com.au in 2011, on the eve of his international debut.

MI’s victory over SRH has made the Playoffs race more complicated as none of the teams have qualified yet.

After this victory, MI will be squaring off against Kolkata Knight Riders for their next IPL 2024 match on Saturday at the Eden Gardens. On the other hand, SRH will be going up against Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday.
