MOUZ defeated The MongolZ and Team Spirit eliminated Team Liquid in the quarterfinals as the playoffs got underway for the $1.25 million Counter-Strike 2 tournament.
MOUZ won 16-14 on Ancient and 13-9 on Nuke, while Team Spirit pulled out 13-9 and 13-11 wins on Anubis and Dust II, respectively.
MOUZ and Spirit will meet Saturday, with the winner advancing to Sunday’s grand final. All matches in the single-elimination playoffs are best-of-three, and the champion will take home $500,000.
The action resumes on Friday with two more quarterfinal matches: G2 Esports vs. HEROIC and FaZe Clan vs. Team Vitality.
