The Brooklyn Nets are planning to waive injured forward Bojan Bogdanovic, ESPN reported on Wednesday.
An earlier report said the 35-year-old veteran needed a second surgical procedure on his left foot and would not play this season.
He had the initial surgery last April after sustaining the injury during the New York Knicks’ first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Bogdanovic joined the Nets in the July 2024 trade that sent Mikal Bridges to the Knicks. He has averaged 15.6 points, 3.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 719 games (572 starts) over 10 seasons with six NBA teams.
According to ESPN, Brooklyn plans to sign former lottery pick Killian Hayes to a 10-day contract and convert two-way guard Tyrese Martin’s deal to a standard NBA contract.
Hayes, 23, was the seventh overall pick in the 2020 draft by Detroit. The point guard has averaged 8.1 points, 5.2 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 210 games (145 starts) in four seasons with the Pistons (2020-24).
Martin, 25, is averaging 7.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 36 games (six starts) this season with the Nets.
