New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston is reportedly playing Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with four fractures in his back, according to a repot from Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.
Glazer reports that Winston will be playing with extra padding to protect the injury, and that doctors believe he is not going to do any further damage to the injuries by playing through them.Â
Winston was limited in practice on Wednesday.
In the Saints’ Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons Winston was sacked four times, while throwing for 269 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Winston was limited to just seven games a year ago due to a knee injury. The Saints are 6-2-0 with him as a starter since he joined the team.Â
The Saints have won four of the past five games against the Buccaneers, including each of the past four regular season games.Â
