Summer is almost here and, according to recent weather reports, experts warn that this time around, the Earth is going to get even hotter than last year.

Experts have predicted intense heatwaves for this year as well with the potential to break previous records.

So, what can you do to prepare for this year’s heatwave?

One of the things you need to remember is that staying hydrated is crucial for overall health in intense heat. However, if you get bored of drinking water, here are foods that can help you beat the heat.

Cucumber

Cucumbers are made up of about 96% water, which not only helps with the heat, but supports skin health as well.

Watermelon

Watermelon contains about 92% water and is rich in vitamins and antioxidants. This makes it best for the heat as well as heart health and reduced inflammation.

Strawberries

These juicy berries are packed with around 91% water and are also rich in vitamins and antioxidants, providing a low-calorie snack.

Cantaloupe

Cantaloupe has a 90% water content, making it ideal for warm weather. This juicy melon also contains vitamins A and C, which promote skin health and immune function.

Lettuce

Lettuce varieties such as iceberg lettuce have about 95% water content. It is rich in fibre and low in calories which makes it excellent for weight management and hydration.
