In its announcement, Nintendo says both physical and digital copies of its Switch 2 games will offer the same experiences, adding that the price change “simply reflects the different costs associated with producing and distributing each format.” It’s not clear if Nintendo is tweaking prices in other regions, however, as Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is still priced at around $55.74 in the UK version of Amazon, as spotted by @Wario64.
Nintendo notes that “retail partners set their own prices for physical and digital games, and pricing for each title may vary.” The pricing of Switch 2 games has differed between titles, with games like Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Pokopia priced at $69.99, and Mario Kart World costing $79.99.
