Amazon's October Prime Day has effectively chopped off Apple's June price increases. Usually $1,299, the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip and 512GB of storage is on sale for $1,099 at Amazon. That's a more palatable price for a machine that's significantly faster than Apple's $699 MacBook Neo.
The 15-inch version, also with 512GB of storage, is $1,299 at Amazon (was $1,499). In addition to the larger screen, it has two additional speakers, for a total of six, and two additional GPU cores for better overall graphical performance.
The latest update to Apple's midrange laptop includes a noticeable improvement to the speed of both the processor and storage. Even without flashy new features compared to the last-gen model, it's still one of our favorite laptops, thanks to its long battery life, bright screen, and excellent speakers.
